Will water cleaning shrink my wool rug?
No. Proper cleaning by a trained and certified professional will not cause shrinkage. Your wool rug will be properly tested, cleaned, and dried to prevent shrinkage.

Will steam cleaning or water cleaning damage my oriental rug?
You may be interested to know that many large rug cleaning plants clean oriental, silk, and wool rugs by completely immersing them in a bath of water. Water's not the problem with fine rug cleaning--it's the person who you let do it.

There are many factors taken into account for cleaning fringes, preventing color bleeding, and using proper temperature, etc. to clean your fine rugs and protect your investment. We only use trained, certified, and experienced technicians to clean your rug.

How often should your rug be cleaned?
Under normal wear we suggest cleaning your rug every 1-5 years depending on the color of the rug and the amount of traffic it receives. If you have pets or unusually high traffic a cleaning every year would be ideal.

• Kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, and entrance-ways: clean rugs every 1-2 years
• Living rooms, dining rooms, and family rooms: clean rugs every 2 to 4 years
• Bedrooms: clean rugs every 5 years
• Walls: clean rugs every 10 years

What type of rugs do you clean? How do you clean them?
We clean all types of area rugs, oriental rugs, wool rugs, silk rugs, hand woven rugs, navajo rugs, braided rugs, kilims, flatweaves, broadlooms, dhurries, etc.. Each of these rugs has their own cleaning method. We can treat rugs for pet odors, moths, and mildew. If you have any cleaning questions or concerns feel free to call us.

How long does it take to clean my rug?
It takes 10-20 days to do the normal cleaning process (not including shipping time). Repairs and specialty treatments take more time. Dog & cat urine removal cleaning will take longer.

What type of topical treatments do you offer?
We offer a variety of treatments depending on your rug's needs. We offer stain protectors, mothproofing, deodorizers, and anti-microbials.

What if the colors have bled in my Oriental rug?
Dyes that are not colorfast can bleed if not set prior to cleaning and restoration. Unfortunately we cannot fix this particular problem. We always test rugs for colorfastness and take every precaution, however we can not assume responsibility for unstable fugitive dyes.

Will cleaning wear out my special, fine, antique rug?
No, not at all! Properly done professional cleaning will not wear your rug out. Actually our rug washing process will help your rug's longevity.

How long will my rug last?
If it is properly cared for and cleaned periodically a good quality rug will last for generations.

Why is my rug a different color in some places?
This is a common occurrence in hand made rugs and is referred to as “abrash”. This is mainly caused by a change in the dye lot. When the rug is woven, the weavers will usually dye the wool when it is needed. Occasionally the colors will be slightly different and this will cause “abrash”.
